Donate Items

Donations of food, clothing, toiletries and other items are needed by many of the organizations that work with the homeless in our community. By channeling your donation to a group that works with the needy, we can make sure your generosity is directed to those who truly need it and can use it.

Below is a list of organizations looking for donations.

Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada

Catholic Charities is one of the largest nonprofit organizations in Las Vegas that provides miscellaneous services to those in need. Services include emergency shelter for men, children and family services, food distribution, housing assistance, and immigration services. Catholic Charities is in need of donations of clothing and coats, personal hygiene products including soap and deodorant, food and other items. Donated items may be dropped off with the security guard at Catholic Charities between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. daily.

Family Promise works toward assisting homeless families in Clark County by providing housing assistance and sustainable employment.

Goodwill of Southern Nevada

Goodwill is a nonprofit organization that works toward ending unemployment in Southern Nevada by connecting people with available jobs. This helps lead people out of homelessness and poverty and puts them on a path toward self-sufficiency. Goodwill accepts donated goods that can be sold in their thrift stores.

Help of Southern Nevada serves families in the community and strives to help them become self-sufficient by connecting those in need to valuable services. They need donations of baby formula, diapers, clothes, personal hygiene items and other household goods.

Donations may be dropped off at their Flamingo Road office Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Help of Southern Nevada, Shannon West Youth Center

The Shannon West Youth Center provides services for at-risk youth who are currently homeless or are on the verge of becoming homeless in our community. The youth center provides a variety of services including, but not limited to, life skills training, substance abuse counseling, and case management.

Las Vegas Rescue Mission

The Las Vegas Rescue Mission is a nonprofit Christian organization. They provide services to men, women, and families that include daily meals, emergency shelter, addiction recovery services, and spiritual guidance.

Lutheran Social Services of Nevada is a nonprofit organization that provides homeless prevention, housing assistance, ID assistance, and food distribution. They are in need of food and nutritional drinks such as Boost and Ensure, as well as personal hygiene products like soap and toothpaste.

Donations may be dropped off at the Boulder Highway office Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army works toward alleviating or preventing homelessness. It provides charitable outreach and services to men, women and children in need.

The Salvation Army is always looking for goods such as clothing, non-perishable foods, furniture, vehicles, and household goods.

To schedule a pickup of items you would like to donate call 1-800-SA-TRUCK; or you may bring items to on the Salvation Army’s stores or downtown locations.

The Shade Tree

The Shade Tree is the largest nonprofit shelter of its kind that assists women and children in need. Shade Tree focuses on assisting those who are victims of domestic violence, sexual abuse or assault, human trafficking, elder abuse and/or street violence.

U.S. Vets is a private nonprofit organizations aimed at assisting veterans and their families. They provide both transitional and permanent housing, as well as job training and employment services.
